Professor Nick Macklon

Professor Nick Macklon is a highly qualified Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology working at the University of Southampton. He specialises in the treatment of infertility including embryo implantation, peri-implantation and periconceptional events.

Professor Macklon graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1987 and then undertook a Fellowship specialising in Foetal Medicine in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Following this, he became the Senior Lecturer and Director of the Assisted Conception Unit. Subsequently, in 2005, he was appointed Professor of the Periconceptional Medicine and Infertility Unit at the Utrecht University Medical Centre in The Netherlands. More impressively, he worked his way up to becoming Head of the Department of Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecology. In 2009, he became the Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Southampton and then also the Director of clinic Complete Fertility Centre.

Apart from the clinical work he has published his work on ovarian stimulation and endometrial receptivity in more than 100 peer-reviewed articles on PubMed. Furthermore, he has published two award-winning books and is a Visiting Professor at Adelaide University in Australia and Utrecht University in The Netherlands.
