Dr Preeshila Behary

Dr Preeshila Behary is a highly accomplished Consultant specialising in Endocrinology & Diabetes, as well as General Internal Medicine. With a deep commitment to patient care, she has developed a strong clinical focus on endocrine bone disorders, metabolic bone disease, and obesity medicine. Dr Behary is dedicated to providing comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients navigating complex hormonal and metabolic conditions, helping them achieve optimal health and well-being.

Dr Behary graduated with distinction from the University of Leeds, where she completed her medical degree. She subsequently undertook specialist training in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and General Internal Medicine across several leading London hospitals. In 2018, she was awarded a PhD for her research into the role of gut hormones in regulating glycaemic control and energy balance following bariatric surgery. She is an active member of the Society for Endocrinology and is heavily involved in medical education, serving as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer and Unit Training Lead to help shape the next generation of medical professionals.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Behary is an active researcher whose work has been published in high-impact medical journals and presented at major national and international conferences. Her research interests lie at the intersection of obesity, gut hormones, and bone metabolism, particularly exploring how weight-loss therapies affect bone health. She also has extensive experience managing rare bone diseases and Paget's disease, contributing her expertise to multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients receive highly coordinated and specialised care.
