Mr Peter Coe

Mr Peter Coe is a Consultant General Surgeon who specialises in upper gastrointestinal and bariatric surgery. He provides compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each individual, empowering patients to make informed decisions regarding their treatment options. With extensive clinical expertise in keyhole surgical techniques, Mr Coe is dedicated to achieving optimal patient outcomes while minimising surgical impact and supporting a smooth recovery.

Mr Coe graduated from the University of Manchester in 2010 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) alongside a Bachelor of Science with Honours. He subsequently earned a Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction and completed two years of dedicated research examining obesity and cancer risk, which resulted in the award of a Doctor of Medicine (MD) thesis. He attained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 2021 before completing advanced post-qualification fellowship training in laparoscopic bariatric surgery. Mr Coe maintains professional affiliations with several respected organisations, holding memberships with the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the Association of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons, the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society, the International Society for Diseases of the Oesophagus, and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders.

In his clinical practice, Mr Coe performs minimal access procedures across a broad range of general and upper gastrointestinal conditions. His main clinical interests include weight loss surgery, procedures for hiatus hernias and acid reflux disease, gallbladder removal, and both open and keyhole hernia repairs. Additionally, he has expertise in keyhole surgery for cancers of the oesophagus and stomach. Alongside his surgical work, Mr Coe actively contributes to clinical research in obesity, gallstones, and upper gastrointestinal malignancies, ensuring his care remains aligned with modern medical advancements.
