Dr Penelope McParland is a dedicated Consultant Obstetrician who offers comprehensive, compassionate care across all aspects of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. She is deeply committed to supporting women and families throughout every stage of pregnancy, ensuring that patient safety, dignity, and individualised care plans remain at the forefront of her practice. Dr McParland works closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams to deliver evidence-based care tailored to each patient's unique health needs.

Her clinical focus centres on high-risk obstetrics and the prevention of preterm birth. Dr McParland possesses extensive expertise in prematurity prevention, utilising advanced clinical strategies such as cervical cerclage, cervical pessaries, and vaginal progesterone therapies to manage complex pregnancies. She is also actively involved in specialised Rainbow Clinic care, providing dedicated, empathetic antenatal guidance to parents navigating pregnancy following a previous pregnancy loss or stillbirth. In addition to intrapartum care, delivery suite leadership, and Caesarean section procedures, her clinical expertise encompasses general gynaecology and laparoscopic treatments.

Dr McParland holds a primary medical qualification (MB BS or equivalent) and is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG). Throughout her professional career, she has actively contributed to clinical audit, perinatal mortality reviews, and national research initiatives aimed at improving maternal and neonatal outcomes.
