Dr Paul Clarke

Dr Paul Clarke is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician and Consultant Neonatologist who provides comprehensive, compassionate care for newborn infants and young children. Specialising in neonatal medicine, he focuses on delivering advanced, family-centred care to critically ill and premature babies, ensuring that every infant receives tailored medical attention. Dr Clarke is deeply committed to supporting families through complex medical journeys, blending clinical excellence with an empathetic and reassuring approach.

In his clinical practice, Dr Clarke possesses extensive expertise across a wide spectrum of neonatal conditions and advanced intensive care interventions. His primary areas of clinical focus include infant nutrition, the prevention and management of vitamin K deficiency bleeding, and immunisation responses in preterm infants. He is skilled in administering cutting-edge respiratory therapies, including high-frequency oscillation and volume-controlled ventilation, as well as managing hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy through therapeutic hypothermia.

Dr Clarke completed his medical degree, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, at the Victoria University of Manchester in 1990. Following extensive postgraduate medical training and sub-specialty neonatal fellowship training, he earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Manchester in 2008 for his clinical research in infant nutrition. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, and holds active professional memberships with the British Association of Perinatal Medicine, The Neonatal Society, the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases, and the European Society for Paediatric Research.
