Dr Nikhila Deshpande

Dr. Nikhila Deshpande is the Founding Director and Senior Consultant Psychiatrist at Tranquil TMS. With over 25 years of experience in the field of psychiatry, she has dedicated her career to diagnosing and managing various psychiatric conditions affecting adults aged 18 and above.

Dr. Deshpande's particular focus and passion lie in the diagnosis and management of mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder and dementia. She is deeply committed to staying at the forefront of her field and has published several papers and participated in research projects. In addition, she serves as an examiner for the MRCPsych exams for The Royal College of Psychiatrists, contributing to the advancement of psychiatric knowledge and training.

Recognising the need for innovative and effective treatments, Dr. Deshpande, in 2018 founded Tranquil TMS, a specialised centre that provides a safe and non-invasive treatment option for depression,  obsessive compulsive disorder and anxiety disorders. She has completed a successful rTMS (repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) training course organised by the Clinical TMS Society, an esteemed international organisation. Through rTMS, Dr. Deshpande has effectively treated patients with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety disorders including obsessive compulsive disorder and individuals who were hesitant to take antidepressant medications.

Dr. Deshpande's dedication to her field is further evident in her membership with the Clinical TMS Society, allowing her to stay connected with other professionals and the latest advancements in the field of transcranial magnetic stimulation.
