I am a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Christie Cancer Centre in Manchester, specialising in reconstructive surgery for patients with head and neck, breast, advanced skin cancer, and perineal defects following cancer resection. In addition, I also perform skin surgery for private patients through The Mole Clinic in London and Manchester.

I read medicine at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, where I graduated with Distinction, and was also awarded Honours for top performance in Surgery, Medicine and Therapeutics. Other awards for top academic performance included a Chancellor’s scholarships for top 3 performance as well as national awards from the Association of Physicians and also the Association of Physicians of GB and Ireland. I also took an extra BSc in Biomedical Science at this time, graduating 1st Class (Honours) and also an award for best research student. Several other awards at this time include:

My postgraduate training was in Glasgow, Newcastle, Nottingham but my higher plastic surgery training was in Essex and Norwich. My training included all forms of plastic surgery including breast, skin, hand and aesthetic surgery. I also spent over a year as an advanced Head and Neck and facial reconstructive and aesthetic surgery fellow in Chelmsford, Essex where I also gained expertise in managing facial paralysis. I passed my FRCS(Plast) exams, was awarded a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) and was admitted onto the plastic surgery Specialist Register by the GMC .  During this time, I won awards from the MY Plastic Surgery course for course perfomance as well as publishing over 60 scientific articles, including several texbook chapters.

I am an expert in the removal of skin tumours of all sizes from anywhere on the body, including the head and neck, and am skilled in performing all reconstructions including skin grafts, local tissue rearrangements and free tissue transplants. I have particular interests and strengths in all forms of head and neck surgery including cancer removals, parotidectomy, neck dissection, facial paralysis correction, facial and nose reconstruction as well as all skin cancer surgeries including sentinel lymph node biopsy, groin and axilla dissection. I also perform vaginal and reconstructions following gynae or rectal surgery. I perform this work at the Christie where I work with 3 other expert colleagues.

My private practice includes the above but I also have an interest in "low risk, high satisfaction" local anaesthetic skin procedures including moles, skin cancers, lipomas, cysts, eyelid lifts, facial fat grafting and other lumps and bumps. I also offer nonsurgical injectable treatments. I can help direct you following enquiry as to which clinic to book through.
