About Mr Nick Aresti
Mr Nick Aresti is an experienced Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in upper limb surgery and complex trauma at Barts Health NHS Trust. He is the Orthopaedic Network Clinical Director at Barts Health and also the Clinical Lead of Orthopaedics at The London Clinic.
He takes a holistic approach to the treatment of orthopaedic disorders and uses innovative technologies, working closely with leading physiotherapists and anaesthetists, and only performs surgery where necessary.
Mr Aresti trained at University College London, where he won a number of prizes. He went on to undertake a fellowship at Addenbrooke's Hospital, followed by a travelling fellowship to North America, where he spent time with some of the most influential and pioneering upper limb surgeons in the world.
Mr Aresti was previously a Clinical Fellow to the National Medical Director, where he was assigned to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and contributed to healthcare policy and regulation. He currently serves on a number of national and regional committees, including the British Orthopaedic Association for which he is the Vice Chair of the Orthopaedic committee.
Mr Aresti has authored three surgical textbooks, several book chapters, and research articles in international peer-reviewed publications. He is still pursuing an academic career and is participating in a number of national and regional research initiatives.

What a lovely man! Nick was professional and listened and was very caring . I felt like I was a person and not just a hospital number and I left reassured that going forward I will receive the best care possible . As I had sought a second opinion after feeling a little let down and confused by the original consultant I feel extremely glad I did . I have now cancelled the forthcoming operation with the first consultant and will be asking my GP to refer me to Nick ( that appointment is 28/9 ) through choose and book . I felt listened to throughout the appointment and left feeling confident and well-informed. Overall, I received excellent care and would highly recommend him.
Spoke with Nick about pain through my neck, shoulder, elbow and wrist. We had an initial conversation where he listened intently to my thoughts and worries. He guided me through the process of the MRI and also the outcome of it after. Super helpful
Nick fixed my left shoulder (Latarjet procedure). From the first consultation, through to the day of the procedure and post-op consultation, he was professional, highly educated and very experienced. From that first consultation I had great trust in his ability to perform the surgery, and that stayed consistent throughout the whole process. Highly recommend Nick!
