Dr Neil Jennings

Dr Neil Jennings is an experienced Consultant General Surgeon specialising in upper gastrointestinal surgery and metabolic weight-management procedures. Dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-focused care, he provides comprehensive diagnostic assessments and tailored surgical interventions for a broad range of general and digestive conditions. His practice focuses on helping individuals achieve long-term improvements in their physical health, well-being, and overall quality of life.

With extensive clinical expertise, Dr Jennings performs advanced minimally invasive (laparoscopic) procedures for benign upper gastrointestinal conditions as well as complex bariatric surgeries. His clinical interests encompass surgical weight loss procedures, including gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, gastric banding, and one anastomosis gastric bypass, alongside the management of gallstones, gastro-oesophageal reflux, and emergency general surgical conditions. He takes a reassuring and collaborative approach, ensuring every patient is fully informed and comfortable with their treatment plan at every stage of care.

Dr Jennings completed his undergraduate medical education, earning his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), before undertaking specialist higher surgical training in General Surgery. He further advanced his academic and clinical foundation by obtaining a Doctor of Medicine (MD) research degree and achieving Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS). He maintains full professional registration on the General Medical Council Specialist Register for General Surgery and actively participates in surgical research and professional development.

Alongside his operative practice, Dr Jennings has held prominent institutional leadership roles, serving as Clinical Director and Deputy Medical Director for surgical services. In these positions, he has contributed to clinical governance, service development, and the training of surgical trainees and medical students.
