Mr Jeremy Cundall

Mr Jeremy Cundall is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with a specialist interest in pelvic floor disorders and functional bowel conditions. He has been practising medicine since 1995 and combines extensive surgical experience with a patient-focused approach, providing individualised assessment and treatment for a broad range of colorectal and general surgical conditions.

His key clinical interests include rectal prolapse, faecal incontinence, constipation and other pelvic floor disorders, alongside colorectal surgery, haemorrhoids, hernia surgery,  and gastrointestinal endoscopy. He performs both upper and lower GI endoscopy, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy, and manages patients requiring diagnostic investigation as well as operative treatment.

In private practice, he currently sees patients at Spire Washington Hospital in Washington, Tyne and Wear, where he provides consultations and treatment for general and colorectal surgical conditions. Spire lists him as a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon, with particular services including gastroscopy, colonoscopy and hernia surgery.

Alongside his surgical practice, Mr Cundall has developed significant experience in healthcare leadership. He has worked at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust since 2008 and has held senior leadership positions alongside his consultant role. Mr Cundall is committed to providing careful, individualised surgical treatment based on each patient’s symptoms, diagnosis and wider health needs. His combination of specialist colorectal expertise, pelvic floor experience, endoscopic practice and general surgery allows him to manage patients across investigation, conservative treatment and surgery, while maintaining a strong emphasis on clear communication and patient wellbeing.
