Dr Neil Herring

Dr Neil Herring is a Consultant Cardiologist and Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine who provides comprehensive care for individuals experiencing complex heart conditions. Known for his objective and reassuring approach, Dr Herring focuses on delivering personalised diagnostic and therapeutic strategies that prioritise long-term cardiovascular health. He works closely with patients to ensure they feel informed, supported, and confident throughout every stage of their treatment.

As a specialist in the field, Dr Herring sub-specialises in cardiac pacing and rhythm management devices. His clinical interests centre on cardiac electrophysiology, the autonomic nervous system's control of the heart, cardiac pacemaking, heart failure, and the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias. In addition to his direct clinical work, he actively contributes to medical education and clinical research, co-authoring widely recognised cardiovascular textbooks and scientific publications to help advance the standard of heart care.

Dr Herring completed his doctoral research degree (DPhil) in 2001 and earned his primary medical qualification in 2004 at the University of Oxford. He subsequently completed specialist postgraduate clinical training and research fellowships in cardiology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) and a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS).
