Dr Nazima Pathan

Dr Nazima Pathan is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician and Paediatric Intensive Care Specialist who provides comprehensive care for critically ill infants, children, and young people. Specialising in paediatric critical care, she focuses her practice on diagnosing and managing complex medical conditions requiring intensive monitoring and specialised life support. Her clinical approach combines evidence-based medical expertise with empathetic support, ensuring that young patients receive attentive treatment while providing reassuring guidance to their families during challenging times.

Her clinical and research focus encompasses a wide spectrum of paediatric critical care fields, with primary interests in sepsis, severe systemic infections, acute inflammation, and organ failure. Dr Pathan actively contributes to advancing child health through research into rapid diagnostic techniques, infection control protocols, and the influence of host-microbiome interactions during severe illness. Additionally, she has been involved in developing innovative digital tools and predictive health systems designed to enhance patient safety and support the psychological wellbeing of families navigating intensive care admissions.

Dr Pathan completed her medical training and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH). Alongside her hospital practice, she serves as an Associate Professor, remaining actively engaged in medical education, supervising clinical research, and contributing to national panels focused on improving paediatric healthcare outcomes.
