Dr Deepa Krishnakumar

Dr Krishnakumar is a Consultant Paediatric Neurologist based at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge, with over 15 years of experience in paediatrics.

Dr. Krishnakumar trained in general paediatrics in East Anglia, London and in Wales. She then trained to be a specialist Paediatric Neurologist in Addenbrooke's Hospital and at Great Ormond Street Hospital, London. She has worked as a consultant at the tertiary referral neurology centre at Southampton prior to her appointment at Addenbrooke's Hospital.

Her special interests include Paediatric neurology, Headaches, Epilepsy, Stroke, Cerebral palsy, Developmental Problems and Neuromuscular disorders. She is well versed in the diagnostic modalities including MRI and CT scans, metabolic tests, skin and muscle biopsy. She teaches in headache and epilepsy courses via the British Paediatric Neurology Association.

She leads on the paediatric IIH ( Idiopathic intracranial hypertension ) service and Lead for Paediatric neurology research at Addenbrooke's Hospital.
