Dr Theofilos Polychronakis

Dr Theofilos Polychronakis is a Consultant Paediatrician specialising in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine. He is based in Cambridge and currently practices at Addenbrooke's University Hospital and sees private patients at Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital.

Dr Polychronakis completed his medical degree at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2006. He later moved to the UK and completed his Master's degree in Allergy at Imperial College London in 2011. He completed his sub-specialty training in paediatric respiratory medicine at the Royal Brompton Hospital and in Cambridge, and also completed a Senior Fellowship in at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2019. Dr Polychronakis also holds a Paediatric HERMES Diploma (paediatric respiratory medicine) from the European Respiratory Society.

Dr Polychronakis has specialist expertise in children with recurrent respiratory infections, chronic cough, asthma, allergies, rhinitis, sleep disorders and eczema. He regularly performs lung function tests and sleep studies.

In addition to his research work, Dr Polychronakis has published numerous papers in high impact peer-reviewed journals, such as the Journal of Cystic Fibrosis. He has also presented his work at many international conferences. He holds professional memberships with the British Paediatric Respiratory Society, the European Respiratory Society and the British Thoracic Society.
