Mr Mubashir Mulla

Mr Mubashir Mulla is an accomplished Consultant Upper GI and General Surgeon who provides compassionate, patient-centred care in South Wales. Specialising in upper gastrointestinal conditions and general surgical interventions, he offers expert clinical evaluation and personalised treatment plans for individuals experiencing symptoms related to the stomach, oesophagus, and abdominal wall. Mr Mulla is committed to employing modern, minimal access techniques whenever appropriate to minimise discomfort, shorten recovery times, and optimise patient outcomes.

In his clinical practice, Mr Mulla focuses on the diagnosis and surgical management of gallstone disease, heartburn, acid reflux, and various gastro-oesophageal disorders. His surgical expertise encompasses upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery for bile duct stones, and the treatment of all types of groin and abdominal wall hernias, including complex incisional hernia repair. He takes a reassuring and thorough approach to patient care, ensuring that individuals fully understand their diagnostic findings and surgical options.

Mr Mulla completed his extensive surgical training within the United Kingdom. He earned a Master of Medicine (MMED) from the University of Nottingham in 2011, followed by a Doctor of Medicine by Research (MD Res) from King's College, University of London in 2017. He subsequently attained Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 2019 and undertook sub-specialist fellowship training in upper gastrointestinal surgery. In addition to his clinical work, Mr Mulla serves as an Honorary Lecturer at Cardiff University, leads clinical governance initiatives in surgery, and is actively involved in teaching and mentoring trainee surgeons.
