Professor Stephen Radley is a Consultant Gynaecologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at The University of Sheffield. He leads the Urogynaecology service in Sheffield as both Clinical Lead and Training Programme Director and serves as the Research Lead for Reproductive Medicine & Childbirth across Sheffield and South Yorkshire.
Graduating from the University of London in 1987, Professor Radley specialised in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from 1989 and further trained in reconstructive urology. He was appointed as a consultant in 2000 and earned his MD from the University of Sheffield in 2005.
His clinical expertise focuses on pelvic floor disorders, including prolapse, urinary incontinence, and related bladder, bowel, vaginal, and sexual dysfunctions. Professor Radley developed the widely used Electronic Personal Assessment Questionnaire (ePAQ), an innovative online tool that assesses patient symptoms, quality of life, and treatment outcomes across gynaecology and other healthcare fields.
He offers a comprehensive range of treatments such as prolapse repair, anterior and posterior vaginal repairs, cystoscopy (both flexible and rigid), hysteroscopy, laparoscopic surgery, sacrospinous fixation, and vaginal hysterectomy. His patient-centred approach aims to improve quality of life through advanced, evidence-based care for complex pelvic and urogynaecological conditions.
