Mr. Samir Rahmani is a Consultant General Surgeon with many years of experience in the treatment and management of Upper GI conditions including gall bladder issues, hernia, and acid reflux. He sees private patients at Spire Cardiff Hospital.
Mr. Rahmani earned his primary medical qualification at Baghdad Medical School, after which he undertook his basic surgical training at Leeds teaching Hospital, where he gained knowledge and expertise in basic surgery. He also earned his Master's degree in Education & Development and Social Health Diploma during this time, and later moved to Wales to complete his higher surgical training, gaining expertise on stomach and oesophagus cancer resection surgery.
Upon completion of his training, Mr. Rahmani was appointed Consultant in 2016, and has since become an accredited endoscopist, and performed over 1000 gall bladder and hernia surgeries combined. Mr. Rahmani is also on the Aneurin Bevan Health Board of the Nevill Hall Hospital, where he undertakes a high volume of laparoscopic procedures, which are mostly day cases. Mr. Rahmani centres his practice around good communication and clinical excellence, to ensure the best clinical outcomes for his patients. He is also an active member of the scientific research community, having authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presenting his work at national and international conferences. He is also a keen advocate for medical education, and regularly holds courses to teach surgical skills to junior doctors and students.
