I was referred to Mr Sam Vollans for a problem with my oft shoulder. He has a good bedside manner, listening well and giving support and detailed explanations of the problem and the options available to put it right. He gave me time to think, support and reassurance that the decision I made whether to have surgery or not, was the right one for me.

I have nothing but the highest praise for Mr Vollans. Although I have a rotator cuff tear, we agreed that he would do a sub- acromial decompression,, which was much less invasive than a full repair. Recovery was very fast - no pain and sling off after a couple of days. Six weeks after op, the procedure seems to have been successful. Still no pain and substantial recovery of movement already. Mr Vollans’ communication at all times has been excellent and therefore confidence in outcomes is high.

Mr Vollans has been absolutely fantastic from the beginning. Although we live in Cornwall that hasn't once been an issue - Mr Vollans has been in frequent contact with me and my daughter and made himself fully available should we needed. He was able to make my daughter feel supported and safe to voice to her opinions and ask questions. He facilitated surgery on 2 occasions this year and ensured this was as simple as possible given our travelling distance. My daughter is now pain free and has full mobility. Mr Vollans was always respectful, professional and gentle in his manner towards both of us. Thank you!!
