Mr Matija Krkovic

Mr Matija Krkovic is a Senior Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon, practising at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as well as Nuffield Health Cambridge Hospital and Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital. With a reputation for managing complex cases, he treats patients from across the region, including London, specialising in lower limb trauma and reconstruction. His areas of expertise include osseointegration following amputation, complex orthopaedic injuries, post-traumatic complications of the lower leg, limb and joint reconstruction, knee replacement and revision surgery, knee arthritis, and limb length discrepancy.

In addition to his clinical and surgical practice, Mr Krkovic works extensively with solicitors in the fields of personal and catastrophic injury, as well as medical negligence, providing expert medico-legal reports.

Originally from Slovenia, he graduated in Medicine in 1995 from Univerza v Ljubljani, where he later completed his PhD in 2006, focusing on electrophysiological monitoring of the ulnar nerve during surgery. After completing higher specialist training in General and Orthopaedic Trauma Surgery in 2001, he pursued advanced fellowships in Germany and Switzerland with internationally renowned surgeons.

Since 2007, Mr Krkovic has served as an NHS Consultant, combining patient care with ongoing research and the training of future orthopaedic specialists.
