Mr Mark Thomas graduated from Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School in 1991. Following that, he completed his specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery via his North West Thames rotation and undertook a fellowship in spinal surgery and trauma in Toronto, Canada.
Mr Thomas was appointed as a consultant at Frimley Park Hospital in 2002.
His specialist interest is in spinal surgery. He is very passionate and involved in developing and expanding spinal services in the area. Additionally, he is a fellow of the British Orthopaedic Association and Royal Society of Medicine and a member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons and the Spine Society of Europe.
He is married to Alison, a local GP, and has two children now both at university.

Having been under Mr Mark Thomas since 2016 I have always found him to extremely approachable, clear and open in his approach to my conditions. Mr Thomas is extremely knowledgeable and explained everything in an understandable way. He went through all my options and I felt comfortable with the planned approach.
I was referred to Mr Thomas by another consultant. I found Mr Thomas to be thorough in his assessment and he explained his findings in great detail and in a way that was easy to comprehend.
Mark Thomas greeted me in a kindly manner. He carried out his examination efficiently with regard to my age and explained patiently my MRI and his diagnosis. He was professional throughout my visit.
Dr Mark Thomas conducted my back surgeries in the past and recalled them well. He took me through my current issue MRI scans in a more thorough manner than I have experienced elsewhere. Therefore, I am now able to better relate to the limitations of my options.
Unfortunately I saw the wrong consultant as I was wanting a shoulder consultation and not spine.
Very knowledgeable. Explained everything thoroughly in easily understandable terms.
