About Mr Mark Thomas
Mr Mark Thomas graduated from Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School in 1991. Following that, he completed his specialist training in Orthopaedic Surgery via his North West Thames rotation and undertook a fellowship in spinal surgery and trauma in Toronto, Canada.
Mr Thomas was appointed as a consultant at Frimley Park Hospital in 2002.
His specialist interest is in spinal surgery. He is very passionate and involved in developing and expanding spinal services in the area. Additionally, he is a fellow of the British Orthopaedic Association and Royal Society of Medicine and a member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons and the Spine Society of Europe.
He is married to Alison, a local GP, and has two children now both at university.

I have a history of lumbar pain dating back to my early 20s... but had been reasonably trouble free for around 25 years until earlier this summer when I was floored by a sudden, extreme episode of sciatica. After having a private MRI scan with a very brief report I was left with many questions. I decided to seek out help and am very glad that I found Mr Thomas. He was able to go through my scan in detail, taking time to show me what was happening. Throughout he gave me opportunities to ask more questions and I never felt rushed. He has a warm and professional manner and I left feeling I had a much better understanding of my issue. Mr Thomas was also very reassuring and I thank him for helping me to gain a more confident outlook around my problem. What many people don't realise is that acute back pain can place an enormous burden on mental health but I left his office feeling reassured and am now taking positive steps to work towards recovery.
