Mr Marcus Cope is a highly qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon. Since February 2017, he has been working full time as a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon in the private sector. He works in Ormskirk in the North West of England at Renacres Hall Hospital, which is part of Ramsay Healthcare group. Mr Cope has experience in both the public and private sectors, he worked as a full-time Orthopaedic Consultant in the NHS from 2007 to 2017 at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital. He was also Clinical Director of Orthopaedics from 2014 to 2017, managing the department.
Mr Cope graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1996 and subsequently undertook basic surgical training in the NorthEast region. Following this he conducted full-time research into "why hip replacements loosen" at Leeds University with an internationally recognized research team under the supervision of Professors Fisher and Ingham. For this research, he was awarded an MSc (Engineering) in 2001 from the University of Leeds. Following this, he began higher surgical training on the Northern rotation, before moving to Merseyside to complete it. He was awarded the FRCS (Tr&Orth) in 2005. Mr Cope also undertook a Fellowship abroad in South Australia, specialising in complex lower limb replacement and major trauma; this was at Flinders Medical Centre and The Repatriation Hospital in Adelaide.
With his wealth of training and experience, he is able to provide comprehensive care for all patients.
