Mr Laith Majeed

I am a general orthopaedic surgeon who started his medical career and surgical training in teaching hospitals and major medical centres in Baghdad/Iraq on June/1972,which also included working in various communities in the rural and remote areas of the country,

After doing and finishing my national military service,I started my post graduate training and practice in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery

Arrived to uk on 5th/Nov/1977,when the country celebrated the Bnfire night ii,to continue my orthopaaedic training which started inCardiffRoyal Infirmary for trauma service and Redlaver hospital for elective orthopaedic surgery,then moved to surry in 1978 to work in Frimley Park Hospital,which allowed be to do and pass the first part of the Royal College Exam,then I started further trainng in Medway town hospital from 1980-82 before allowed to take and pass the Royal College final Test(FRCS),

I then joined the high surgical training program at Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt hospital,and subsequently moved to Hereford General Hospital(currently Wye ValleyNHS Trust) with extensive practice in trauma and general orthopaedic work including Paediatric orthopaedic,spinal surgical practice and lower limb arthroplasty and revision surgery.

After retirement for 24hours at age of 65,I resumed my work and interest in lower limbs pathology and arthroplasty ,arthroscopic surgery as well as back pain and sciatica todate.and practicing at the County Hospital at Wye Valley NHS Trust and Private Nuffield Health Hereford Hospital.
