Mr Krissen Chettiar

Mr Krissen Chettiar is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at Darent Valley Hospital and Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup. He specialises in lower limb surgery and trauma reconstruction. His main interest is hip and knee replacement and revision surgery. He also has an interest in young adult hip pathology, trauma and enhanced recovery surgery and rehabilitation.

He qualified from St Mary's Hospital, Imperial College London, graduating in 2000. He also has a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and a Masters in Medical Law and Ethics He has published in numerous peer-reviewed journals and presented his research both nationally and internationally.

He has also completed three Orthopaedic Fellowships. Two in joint reconstruction, revision arthroplasty and young adult hip pathology at Frimley Park Hospital and in Calgary Canada, and a trauma fellowship at the University of Calgary in Canada.

He performs numbers well over the national average for joint replacements and hip revision surgery, as stated on the National Joint Registry Data. He also performs regular trauma surgery, all with good outcomes. Feedback obtained from his patients post-operatively has been positive throughout.

I am married and spend my free time with my three young children, I also play football regularly, am a keen skier and enjoy clay pigeon shooting. I have enjoyed living in Kent for the last 13 years and all it has to offer.
