Mr John Watkinson

Mr John Camel Watkinson is a Consultant ENT/ Head & Neck and Thyroid Surgeon specialist interests in Head & Neck and Thyroid and Parathyroid surgery and experience in treating a wide range of Ear, Nose & Throat conditions. From 1992 - 2017, he was a consultant Head and Neck and Thyroid surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, University of Birmingham NHS Trust.

Mr Watkinson qualified from the Royal Free Hospital, University of London (UL), training in ENT and Head and Neck and Plastic Surgery at Guy's Hospital and the Royal Marsden. He was also awarded a Hunterian Professorship for 2009 - 2011 from The Royal College of Surgeons of England

Mr Watkinson was the President of the British Association of Head & Neck Oncologists (BAHNO) and President of the British Association of Endocrine and Thyroid Surgeons (BAETS). He has published on all aspects of Head and Neck surgery, editing the Plastic Surgery section of the last published Scott Brown (2007) and is the new Chief Editor (2018). He has also organised the Birmingham Head and Neck course for ten years and is the Chief Editor of Stell and Maran.
