Mr John Murphy

Mr. John Murphy is a Consultant Breast Surgeon at the Nightingale and Genesis Breast Cancer Prevention Centre, University Hospital of South Manchester. He specialises in oncoplastic and cosmetic breast surgery, covering the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease, breast cancer surgery, fat transfer, aesthetic breast procedures, and complex revision breast surgery.

He graduated in 2000 and began his career in breast surgery in 2001. During his training, he completed prestigious TIG National Fellowships in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery in Newcastle and Cosmetic Reconstructive Surgery in Chester and Liverpool, working under the guidance of leading plastic and breast reconstructive surgeons. In 2013, he completed his surgical training and was appointed as a Consultant in South Manchester immediately thereafter.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Murphy is actively involved in training trainee breast and plastic surgeons at both local and national levels. He has also undertaken a period of research in surgery, earning a PhD, and has authored numerous research papers on breast surgery. His work has been presented at many national and international conferences.
