Mr Karan Jolly is professional and communicates clearly with patients. He diagnoses and resolves complex ENT, nose, and sinus problems, performing successful procedures such as septoplasty, polyp removal, and sinus surgery. Patients appreciate his thorough explanations, active listening, and the significant improvements to their breathing and overall quality of life.
Dr Jolly gave some helpful advice about my situation, such as that I should only consider surgery once inflammation in my nose had settled and I had ruled out certain causes of the problem. I appreciate that this is a thorough and cautious approach. However, I did not feel fully informed about everything surgery would entail, such as if it was possible to fix all my issues, and was still a bit confused about whether he would be willing to offer surgery himself. He told me that he would prefer not to treat me privately and that I should stick with the NHS. At the moment, I cannot breathe through my nose at all and it is making me feel claustrophobic and easily tired. It has been three months since the injury that caused it and despite being referred to NHS ENT at the time, I have still not met any nose specialist on the NHS. Therefore, I found that largely unhelpful. He also works on the NHS as well so knows waiting times are bad in our area. Some of Dr Jolly's answers in the consultation were rather brief. The patient letter also seemed brief. It made some frank statements without further explanation. For instance, he told me that it was 'his personal preference... not to treat [me] privately' without telling me why. Given the stressful situation, I wish more time had been taken to explain his reasons. I felt that the patient letter characterised me in a way that was unfair as well. For example, he wrote that I was 'very argumentative' when told that I would need to do some tests, when I had simply agreed with him and was even already booked in for some of those tests on ...
Read moreI saw Mr Karan Jolly after noticing changes to my voice, and I could not have asked for a better experience from start to finish. From the moment I walked into clinic he put me completely at ease, taking the time to listen properly to my concerns rather than rushing through the appointment. He explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, both what he was looking for and what each step of the assessment involved. He carried out a nasoendoscopy in clinic during the same appointment, which was reassuring as it meant no waiting around for a separate visit, and he talked me through the procedure and the findings clearly. Following the assessment, he referred me on for vocal exercises with a clear explanation of why this was the right next step and what I could expect from it. I left the appointment feeling fully informed, reassured, and confident in the plan going forward. I would also like to acknowledge his secretary Lily, who kept in touch with me throughout and was professional, friendly, and efficient at every point of contact. The whole experience, from first enquiry to follow-up, was seamless. Mr Jolly is knowledgeable, thorough, and genuinely kind in his manner. I would highly recommend him to anyone with voice or ENT concerns.
Karan was so knowledgeable and was so warm and welcoming.
An excellent doctor who gave me sound advice and helped me recover
Mr Jolly is very personable and listens to what you have to say. He communicates issues clearly and simply with you, ensuring that you understand the next steps. Although, previous surgery had not worked, Mr Jolly had the skills to rectify this and solve the sinus problem where others had failed, putting an end to a number of years of pain.
Doctor Jolly was very professional and extremely detailed with his explanation.
I have the pleasure of working closely with Mr. Karan Jolly, an exceptional Consultant Rhinologist and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgeon. We have performed several complex skull base procedures together, and his surgical precision and calm approach to surgical challenges are impressive. He is an outstanding colleague and I would wholeheartedly endorse him as a leading expert in rhinology and skull base surgery.
