George Tsermoulas has been a Neurosurgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham since February 2017 and he is also an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Birmingham. He started his neurosurgical training in Greece and completed it in the UK, where he trained in Newcastle and Birmingham. This was followed by a clinical fellowship in Toronto, Canada where he underwent subspecialty training in neuro-oncology, skull base and pituitary surgery.
He has a wide scope of practice within adult neurosurgery. His specialist clinical interests are disorders of cerebrospinal fluid, like hydrocephalus, Chiari malformation and syringomyelia; surgery for brain and skull base tumours, like meningiomas; and endoscopic pituitary surgery.
In addition to his clinical work, he has a master's degree in Clinical Research from Newcastle University and is involved with clinical trials. He also has a postgraduate certificate in Global Health from the University of Toronto and is involved with humanitarian work oversees.
He currently, practises privately at Harborne Hospital (part of HCA Healthcare UK).
