As a leading Consultant Spinal Neurosurgeon, he combines exceptional expertise with a genuinely personal approach to patient care. Throughout our consultations, he has always been honest, informative and reassuring, taking the time to explain my options and ensure I fully understood the decisions we were making. I underwent my first basivertebral nerve ablation (BVNA) procedure in February 2026. Although this made a significant improvement to my condition, it did not quite enable me to return to my normal sporting activities. As a very active 55-year-old, getting back to the lifestyle I enjoy was extremely important to me. I cannot recommend Mr Irfan Malik highly enough. Before my surgery, I was in absolute agony due to a sequestered herniated disc at my L5/S1 level. The pain was debilitating, but Mr Malik performed an endoscopic microdiscectomy that completely changed everything. Immediately after the operation, I was able to stand completely straight for the first time in months. The relief was instantaneous. I was safely discharged home the exact same day, and my condition has continued to improve steadily in the two weeks since the procedure. Mr Malik is an absolute miracle worker and an amazing spinal surgeon. His skill, expertise, and care have given me my quality of life back. Very happy with the outcome even though the recovery time has been longer than I anticipated due largely to the length of time I had been incapacitated prior to surgery.

I cannot recommend Mr Malik highly enough. From my very first consultation through to my surgery and recovery, I felt completely informed, supported and, most importantly, genuinely cared for. As a surgeon, Mr Malik was exceptional. He took the time to explain everything to me thoroughly and clearly, making sure I understood what was happening and why. He answered every question I had, no matter how small, and never once made me feel that I was asking too much. His knowledge and expertise were incredibly reassuring, particularly at a time when I was understandably anxious about undergoing major surgery.
