Ian Dunn is a consultant urological surgeon, with a special interest in keyhole kidney surgery and microsurgical vasectomy reversal. He currently works in Glasgow after extended training posts in Australia.
He has established a high-volume laparoscopic practice in NHS Lanarkshire in addition to providing core urological service. Here he has established a successful laparoscopic surgical service. His dedication has seen him develope services such as Botox treatment of overactive bladder, local anaesthetic circumcision, and self-catheterisation for urinary retention.
During his training and consultant career he has published several scientific papers, and made presentations at national meetings. He is the honorary Secretary of the Scottish Urology Society, and the urology representative on the West of Scotland core surgical training committee. He is a also UK deputy representative to the International Society of Urology.
Committed to education, he also is an examiner in the final urology examination for trainees on their way to consultant practice, both in the UK and overseas.
