About Mr Simon Morton

Mr Simon Morton is a Consultant Urological Surgeon based in the UK. He practises privately at Ross Hall Hospital in Crookston and Ross Hall Clinic Braehead in Renfrew through Circle Health Group. He also works at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he is involved in both general and specialist urology services, and is an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Glasgow.

Mr Morton graduated with Honours in Medicine from the University of Glasgow in 2010. He undertook core surgical training in urology and general surgery in the West of Scotland before completing specialist training in urology in England. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and a Fellow of the European Board of Urology.

His NHS practice includes general urology alongside subspecialty interests in functional and reconstructive urology and benign prostatic enlargement. He introduced and leads the clinical services for Rezum and HoLEP within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and has also introduced Optilume into NHS practice for the treatment of urethral stricture disease.

Mr Morton’s reconstructive urology practice includes the management of lower urinary tract symptoms, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, female urology, urethral stricture, bladder pain syndrome, post-cystectomy reconstruction and urological reconstruction within the regional sarcoma and pelvic exenteration service.

Alongside his clinical work, Mr Morton previously undertook research into inflammation and cancer pathways at the Medical Research Council laboratories at the University of Dundee, where he was awarded a PhD. He is actively involved in teaching and surgical training and serves as Clinical Lead for Urology trainees at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. He is also an Educational and Clinical Supervisor for trainees on the West of Scotland rotation and is involved with both regional and national urology training committees.

In 2024, Mr Morton was recognised as a “Rezum Expert User” in recognition of his experience and procedural volume in both NHS and private practice.
