Mr Michael Fraser is a highly experienced Consultant Urologist with a specialist focus in andrology. After qualifying from Aberdeen in 1986, he completed his urology training in Yorkshire before returning to Scotland, where he has been practising in Glasgow since 2002. He is based at both the Royal Infirmary and the Southern General Hospitals and also consults privately on men’s health and urological conditions at Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital.
Mr Fraser leads one of Scotland’s major centres for penile prosthesis implantation, a service that has grown into one of the highest-volume centres of its kind in the UK. He developed his expertise in this highly specialised area under the mentorship of two globally recognised andrologists, Mr Ian Eardley in Leeds and Dr Steve Wilson in the United States. Today, he receives referrals from across Scotland for complex functional penile surgery and advanced andrological care.
His clinical interests cover haematuria, bladder dysfunction and prostate health, alongside specialist expertise in erectile dysfunction, Peyronie’s disease, circumcision, penile surgery, penile implants and prosthetic urology. He also offers shockwave therapy for erectile dysfunction.
Widely respected in his field, Mr Fraser has recently been elected to the Executive Committee of the Andrology section of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS).

Mr Fraser was excellent from start to finish. Within a matter of days of consultation, Mr Fraser mapped out the treatment pathway and provided clear timelines which were met at each stage. I can’t thank him enough for everything he done.
Michael is clearly a very experienced and capable consultant surgeon, in whom I have full confidence
I actually enjoyed the consultation, from which I learnt a lot from Mr Fraser as well as being re-assured on the unlikely risk of prostate cancer, which has hung about my mind for more than the last decade. In all that time, until I met Mr Fraser, absolutely nobody had given me any kind of perspective at all on my prostate. I am really glad that I went to see you, sir. I can now see things clearly.

Thank you so much for your kind feedback. Communication and trust are the most important parts of the doctor- patient relationship
Mr Fraser was excellent. I could tell I was in good hands. His experience was evident and when it came to identifying a suitable referral for surgery he had the contacts to make it happen instantly. At all times I was confident that he was aware of the next steps and any contingencies which had to be placed for developing scenarios. He is a very likeable person and I genuinely looked forward to seeing him and I would recommend him to anyone.
Michael was very professional and extremely knowledgeable about men's health. I was very nervous but he put me at ease with his expertise.
Dt Fraser Himself been extremely helpful especially as i was only advised by Nuffield this morning that the afternoon appointment had been altered at the last minute I appreciate hugely that he has gone out of his way to accommodate myself The biggest problem is with Nuffield is incredible difficulty in trying to communicate with Beaconsfield in that (for good commercial reasons - but extremely bad customer experience reasons), all communications are not directly with the hospital, but are through a central switch board which then has to communicate with the hospital and in this case as several times previously were unable to get through This is not a one off problem but i have experienced this several times in the past. Not a one off problem , but an internally structural and very damaging problem for the organisation Doctors have been great , but the Nuffield organisation as such is deeply flawed kindest Regards Jim C.

Thanks for your kind words Jim and also for highlighting the problems that you’ve experienced with communication. I have highlighted this to our admin manager and up to our Operations Manager and Hospital Director. We understand that these things impact hugely on the patient experience and please be assured this point will be acted upon. Michael
I have been seeing Mr Fraser for sometime and today’s appointment was like all so far, supportive, helped me with my post op recovery and as always a nice calming experience. I couldn’t have gotten through this without him.
Dr Fraser was very clear on the explanations, he coordinated the exams and kept a contact after the appointment to be sure I got all the results.
Michael is a top man
