Academic Background:
Mr Pimenides general ophthalmic training was completed in 2005 and was awarded the 'UK Certificate of Completion of Specialty Training'. Received subspecialty Fellowship training in the fields of cataract, cornea, external eye diseases and refractive surgery at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, from 2005 to 2008.
His Phil degree from Cambridge University was supported by a Wellcome Trust grant and scholarship from the School of Medicine, Cambridge University. Mr Pimenides later completed his PhD.
He is the director of the cornea, external eye diseases and refractive surgery in Mid Essex and the Medical Advisor for Ophthalmology at Springfield Hospital. Mr Pimenides was the Ophthalmology Clinical Lead at Mid Essex Hospitals from 2011 to 2013 and received clinical excellence awards.
