About Mr David J Murray
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Mr David Murray, is located in the Manchester and Chesire areas and specialises in hand and wrist surgery. His particular areas of interest are minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures, base of thumb arthritis, small joint replacement, trigger finger, carpal tunnel decompression, and Dupuytren's contracture (including injection therapy). He is dedicated to his field and actively participates in teaching sessions and research projects. Mr Murray is also an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Salford and an Advanced Trauma Life Support instructor.
Mr Murray has a strong interest in the treatment of all hand and wrist disorders. He has won numerous awards for his work in his field and has been recognised at national conventions. Recently, Mr Murray has presented his research and delivered lectures on sports injuries at a number of international conferences, including the World Sport Trauma Congress and the FIFA Football Medical Conference.
Mr Murray received his medical degree from the University of Manchester and went on to complete additional surgical training in orthopaedics on the Northwest Orthopaedic rotation. Mr Murray has also completed a hand and wrist fellowship at the world-famous Wrightington Hospital.

I recently underwent a CMC joint replacement (I think it's called that) for an arthritic thumb, performed by David. Having previously had two successful but brutally painful knee replacements, I was incredibly anxious about the recovery this time around. David assured me that the post-op experience wouldn't be nearly as severe, and he was 100% correct. I’ve had very little pain and am absolutely delighted with the outcome so far. If you need this surgery, I couldn't recommend David highly enough.
Post operative review - delighted with all aspects of my care from initial assessment, day case procedure and today's follow up appointment. Mr Murray explained each stage of management clearly and the surgery was painless. I followed his advise post operatively and now have full hand function again less than 6 weeks later. I would highly recommend his expertise, and have already suggested referral to him for family member . Thank you

Dr Murray was excellent. He didn't want to operate until we had ruled everything else out which we did. Once he operated, I had immediate relief. Slept better than I had in 2 years.
