Mr Christopher Rees Gooding is consistently described as excellent in his patient interactions. Patients report very positive experiences following joint replacement surgery, including mechanical knee replacements and robotic assisted total hip procedures. Outcomes are consistently excellent, with many patients achieving improved mobility, reduced pain, and a restored quality of life. Patients highly recommend Mr Gooding for orthopaedic care, especially for procedures that significantly restore daily function.
The process was fully explained and all staff were helpful and considerate including after care and physio. Overall very good.
Delightful with my second total knee replacement. Would recommend this type of surgery, although quite painful for the first 4-5 weeks.
Mr Gooding was very pleased and optimistic about my recovery and my walking. I am also very pleased that the hip procedure went well, and I am gradually becoming more mobile, and I am very grateful for his expertise. Mr Gooding refuted my having hypermobility, which two well regarded physios have diagnosed , using not the Beighton scale based on being double jointed, (which I’m not, ) but the Brighton score. This is based on many other criteria including having specific joint problems all my life, with loose connective tissue causing knee problems in my childhood and teens, an ability to get my hands flat on the floor, going over on my ankles frequently, pain and swelling and referred pain. As an adult I experience knee pain and swelling after intense , long or repetitive activity, walking up or down hills, and during heatwaves. I’ve also had a frequently twisted and slipped / dislocated pelvis, ( requiring adjustment) problems with sitting, coccydinia , and a rectal prolapse. . I’ve had frequent bouts of tendonitis and bursitis, back pain and shoulder dislocations and rotator cuff injuries. After my procedure my right knee was noted as being excessively painful, bruised and swollen, causing 3 separate professionals( a senior nurse at Nuffield, one in the Thrombosis clinic in Addenbrookes, and my own physio, ) to opine that at some point I’d been ‘roughly handled. ‘ Mr Gooding conceded that this might perhaps have been possible after the procedure, when transferring me from the operating table. As a result I am still having knee pain and swelling, and ...
Read moreI have found Mr Gooding to be a very understanding, caring and professional consultant. The care I have received has been excellent. Mr Gooding has said that if I have any issues that concern me to contact him at anytime. I find this very reassuring and am grateful to him for giving me a new hip.
Mr Gooding explained everything I wanted to know in a clear, concise manner. He inspired confidence in his responses.
Everything was excellent the staff great treatment every thing explained perfect All visits were great Thank you
Very efficient process for booking via insurer Mr Gooding was very efficient in his assessment
The overall experience was very good. The information beforehand was comprehensive and honest and everything went according to plan. The pain in my knee and leg immediately afterwards still took my breath away but, as Christopher Gooding said they would, things got better. The Nuffield nursing staff were kind and considerate while I was in and my two visits afterwards for taking the staples out and later seeing Mr Gooding were reassuring.
I would highly recommend Mr Gooding as a surgeon. My hip replacement operation has been very successful and the after care I am receiving is excellent. He is very reassuring with any queries and I find him very empathetic.
I picked Christopher Gooding for his cheeky smile and it was always there On arriving at Nuffield hospital the staff were lovely we sat waiting for our appointment T&C etc were available 😍 we were called through by Chris and he put me at ease straight away Lovely person 🧍 explained every thing Thank you 🥳
