Mr Phillip Johnston is a Consultant Orthopaedic Hand and Wrist Surgeon, appointed at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust in June 2009.

Mr Johnston read Medicine at Cambridge University and graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Medical and Neurosciences in 1993. He continued his clinical training at Addenbrooke's Hospital graduating in 1995 with Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degrees. Mr Johnston was made a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2000 and started specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics, completed with MD from the University of East Anglia in Dupuytren's genomics and cell behaviour in 2007 and the Royal College of Surgeons of England Senior Fellowship in Hand Surgery at the Norfolk & Norwich Hospital in 2008.

His clinical interests include elective and traumatic conditions in the hand, wrist and forearm and he provides a tertiary referral service for East Anglia in post-trauma reconstrcution. Common conditions treated include Trigger finger, Carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's contracture, wrist ganglion, Joint pain treatment (joint injections), Wrist (distal radius) and scaphoid fracture treatment, scaphoid non-union surgery, wrist reconstruction for arthritis, Peripheral nerve entrapment release (cubital tunnel, radial tunnel) and Thumb base arthritis treatment.
