Professor Ben Turney is professional and clear in his patient interactions. He provides excellent explanations for procedures such as kidney stone removal and enlarged prostate treatments like Rezum and Aquablation therapy, resulting in pain relief and improved sleep. Patients feel listened to, respected, and confident in his calm, attentive, and reassuring approach. The most highlighted themes cover kidney stones, general urology, and prostate conditions.
Prior to the call I was concern and uneasy about my condition and the prospect of surgery. Professor Turney talked me through both the original CT scan in December and the follow up scan on the 18th June, confirming that the largest stone identified in the first scan in December has now been resolved. He outlined the potential options to manage my condition, and having explained the risks of one of the existing stones escaping, we agreed on a "surveillance monitoring approach". Being placed on a recall list and in approximately 12 month, called for a follow up scan at The Genesis Centre MK. At the end of my consultation, I had a significantly greater understanding of my condition and absolute confidence that I am in safe hands.
Professor Turney was clear and calm. He answered my questions fully, and suggested some tests which would see if there any major issues. Thank you.
I was very pleased with today's telephone consultation regarding the GreenLight laser surgery undertaken approximately one month ago, by Professor Ben Turney. It is very good to know that my recovery is doing well and that normal exercise can be resumed. Various 'side effects' were discussed and if they persist beyond 3 months, medication has been prescribed to overcome the problem.
From the initial consultation through the procedure and sign of, the whole experience has been great. The Professor fully explained all that was going to happen and the plans to perform the procedure.
All questions were answered and clarity on options/next steps to improve health longer term.
At every stage of the process from diagnosis to post operative care everything was explained fully and clearly with plenty of chances to ask questions. Nothing was too much trouble or any questions go unanswered so overall I was very pleased with the process and visit(s)
I had been living with daily kidney pain for over 5 years. After my surgery I am now pain free! My treatment with Mr Turney was excellent and I would recommend him to anyone needing surgical intervention for their kidney stones.
I cannot recommend Professor Ben Turney enough. My son saw him several years ago and came away from his first consultation singing his praises. I therefore had high expectations when, quite coincidentally, I realised that I had chosen the same consultant urological surgeon a few years later. Having recently met with Professor Turney myself on a couple of occasions, I can fully appreciate why my son held him in such high regard. Professor Turney could not have been clearer when explaining the findings of the CT scan, the available treatment options and their associated risks. He was also exceptionally patient in answering my many questions. I particularly appreciated his empathetic approach when I explained my concerns. He listened carefully without interruption, took those concerns into account when discussing the next steps, and even suggested that I speak with the anaesthetist beforehand to address my specific worries. Professor Turney treated me with dignity. I felt listened to, respected and left confident in moving forward with treatment. I have no hesitation in highly recommending him.
Ben Turney is an expert on kidney stones, enlargement of the prostate and all general urology procedures. I would seek him out to treat my family if they needed an expert urologist.
