About Mr Benjamin Bloch

I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specialist interest in hip and knee surgery. I have an extremely high volume practice, performing over 500 joint replacements per year. I was the first surgeon in the UK to perform robotic knee surgery using the advanced Velys Robotic Assisted Solution, and regularly offer robotic surgery for total and partial knee replacements in both the NHS and private sector.

I have a particular interest in partial knee replacements (unicompartmental and patellofemoral) which are excellent options for patients with arthritis limited to one part of the knee.

I also have a specialist interest in complex work, including revision (re-do) knee replacement for worn out or poorly performing knee implants. I am the Revision Knee Lead Surgeon for the East Midlands Specialist Orthopaedic Network.

I closely monitor the outcomes of my operations, which enables me to evaluate new technologies and surgical techniques. My patients' outcomes are significantly better than the national average.

I am actively involved in research and continue to publish my research in peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals. I regularly present at national and international meetings and conferences, and have performed live surgical demonstrations in Europe, India and China.  I regularly teach surgical techniques on courses in the UK and overseas. I hold the position of Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham.

I had a partial knee replacement done by Mr Bloch at the Park hospital. He knew what pain i was in and said he'd try his best to get me booked in within a certain time frame due to other commitments which he did. He explained clearly what he would do and after the operation he came to see me after he'd finished his list which was great

I had a partial knee replacement, the first 2 weeks are quite painful but the medication does help a lot, moving early on helped me with range of movement, after 3 weeks I could do some gentle cycling, after 6 weeks , back at work plastering . Mr Bloch, his team and the physio were 1st class , I would definitely recommend

Having had my first knee replacement by Mr. Bloch on the NHS and due to my age I decided to pay for the second knee replacement again by Mr. Bloch. The level of service I received from all members of the team was excellent.

Mr Bloch put me at ease the moment we met, I felt I was in safe hands from the onset, he took the time to explain everything to me regarding my upcoming total hip replacement surgery, which I truly wasn’t looking forward to having, however everything went to plan and I could not have wished for better care. I now have a much better quality of life thanks to Mr Bloch and his wonderful team! I could not be more grateful !

This was a post operation issue that needed to be discussed. I received a call on the same day and after discussion an alternative medication was advised.

Ben is an outstanding surgeon who is pushing the boundaries of knee replacement surgery by looking into different practices and finding best possible care. He introduces this into his practice to make the patient experience the best it could possibly be. I was advised to see Ben by a very senior colleague who was his trainer and who himself is one of the top 10 knee surgeons in the UK. I trusted him to carry out my own knee replacement and that trust has been rewarded. I could not recommend Ben more than that trust and would suggest his services to anyone considering bony knee surgery.
