About Dr Mokhtar Ibrahim
Dr. Mokhtar Ibrahim is an internationally trained Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist based in Leicester, specialising in the management of cardiac arrhythmias, syncope, atrial fibrillation, and sports cardiology. He is highly experienced in advanced cardiac procedures, including pacemaker and device implantation, cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT), implantable cardiac defibrillator (ICD) insertion, and radiofrequency ablation.
Dr. Ibrahim graduated in 2005 from Ain Shams University in Egypt, where he also completed his specialist cardiology training and went on to serve as a Consultant Cardiologist at the university hospital in Cairo. In 2016, he relocated to the UK to pursue a two-year advanced clinical fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology and devices at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital, one of the world’s leading cardiac centres.
Since 2019, Dr. Ibrahim has been among a select group of UK cardiologists holding European accreditation in both cardiac electrophysiology and device therapy, awarded by the European Heart Rhythm Association.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Ibrahim is deeply involved in research and education. He has served as co-principal investigator on multiple studies, published widely in peer-reviewed journals, and presented at conferences across Egypt, the UK, and internationally. He also contributes to the training of future cardiologists through teaching posts at Imperial College London and as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Leicester.
In 2023, Dr. Ibrahim was recognised nationally with a Healthcare Pioneer Award for his contributions to the treatment of atrial fibrillation.

Arrived 20 mins early for appointment this meant that I had an ECG and my BP taken prior to my appointment. This broke the waiting time up. I was seen within 10mins of my appointment time. All staff I came in to contact with, were polite, explained what they were going to do in a professional manner.
