Michal is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon and his NHS practice is at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, where he is the Lead Clinician for Breast Multidisciplinary Meetings.
He studied medicine at Masaryk University in Czech Republic. He started his General Surgery training in Czech Republic and from 2009 trained in major centres in London. He subspecialised in Breast surgery and completed a renowned Oncoplastic Breast Surgery Fellowship at Frimley Park Hospital. His first consultant appointment was within King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Michal was involved in research from early on in his career. He completed laboratory-based research with Cardiff University towards his MD degree investigating pathways in development of breast cancer and therapy resistance. He published in peer reviewed journals and presented widely on many national and international conferences.
Michal is a fully oncoplastic trained breast surgeon specialising in the management of benign and malignant breast conditions. He is proficient in breast conservation and breast reconstruction techniques including partial breast reconstruction, complex symmetrising operations and post cancer treatment revision surgery.

Management of benign breast conditions (breast lumps, nipple discharge, breast pain)

Breast conserving surgery - wide local excision or 'lumpectomy';
Partial breast reconstruction using chest wall perforator flaps (LICAP, LTAP, MICAP, AICAP), a technique used in larger tumours to reconstruct the breast at the same time tumour is resected and avoiding a mastectomy,
Extreme oncoplastic procedures - large tumour resections with volume replacement and reshaping of breast (combination of procedures like chestwall perforator flaps with breast lift)
Therapeutic mammoplasty or removing breast tumour and reducing size of breast while preserving the shape of breast;
Mastectomy and breast reconstruction using silicone implants or patient's own tissue, - done together with a plastic surgeon. Immediate/delayed reconstructions;
Bilateral breast reduction;
Symmetrising breast operations - breast lift or breast reduction after the other breast has been treated for cancer;
Revisions after breast cancer treatment; using chestwall perforator flaps as delayed revision procedures
