Dr Michael Ayeko

Dr Michael Ayeko is a highly accomplished Consultant Anaesthetist who specialises in providing comprehensive anaesthetic care and critical care medicine. With a patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of individuals undergoing surgical and diagnostic procedures. His clinical practice encompasses a wide range of anaesthetic techniques, tailored to meet the unique physiological needs of each patient.

Throughout his career, Dr Ayeko has developed significant expertise in several key areas of anaesthesia. His clinical interests include paediatric anaesthesia, with a focus on managing emergence agitation and delirium in children, as well as obstetric anaesthesia, particularly combined spinal epidural techniques for caesarean sections. He is also highly skilled in advanced airway management, including awake nasal fibreoptic intubation, and has a strong interest in local anaesthetic techniques such as peribulbar and sub-Tenon's eye blocks for ophthalmic surgeries. Additionally, he provides expert sedation for diagnostic procedures, ensuring a reassuring and pain-free experience for his patients.

Dr Ayeko obtained his primary medical qualification, a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), from the prestigious College of Medicine at the University of Ibadan in Nigeria. Following his graduation, he pursued extensive postgraduate training in the United Kingdom, specialising in anaesthetics and critical care. He is an active member of the Ibadan Medical Specialists Group (IMSG) in the UK, reflecting his commitment to professional collaboration and the advancement of medical education.
