Dr Nicholas Heseltine

Dr Nicholas Heseltine is a Consultant in Pain Medicine on the Wirral, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of back pain, neck pain, sciatica, nerve pain and persistent or chronic pain.

He treats a wide range of pain conditions, including lumbar and cervical facet joint pain, sacroiliac joint pain, neuropathic pain, persistent joint pain, headaches and pain following injury or surgery. His practice combines careful assessment with evidence-based treatment aimed at improving mobility, function and quality of life.

Dr Heseltine has particular expertise in image-guided pain procedures, including spinal injections, epidural injections for sciatica, diagnostic nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for facet joint pain. Procedures are recommended selectively, when there is a clear clinical indication and a realistic prospect of benefit.

He is a Consultant at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals and The Walton Centre and sees private patients at Spire Murrayfield Hospital, Wirral.

Dr Heseltine is also a College Tutor for the Faculty of Pain Medicine and teaches medical students at the University of Liverpool.
