You have the courage to have taken the most important step, now let's talk
I am Meera, welcome to my profile. If you are here it is probably because you are struggling and in emotional pain, perhaps even in crisis?
I will first and foremost help you process your difficult or overwhleming feelings, to help you in the short term. We will then turn our attention to finding answers to longstanding problems and possible unconsciously repeated patterns in your life. You may have made choices that were protective a long time ago. These solutions often become problems in
the long term, as they are no longer tailored to your adult current life situation. We will work together to help you become more aware of and review these decisions, to see if they still help you in your life now. It takes courage to seek therapy, so here is the next step - book a free 15 minutes call with me and let's begin the journey that your future self will thank you for. .
A first session with me
I work with Young People and Adults, as a companion through your darkness, to bear witness to your struggles and help you get new perspectives on your problems.
The first session usually involves exploring your life and family history in depth, so I get to know you, your support systems, as well as your current struggles and how they impact on different areas of your life. I am also curious about how you have dealt with problems in the past and what enabled you to seek help at this particular time in your life.
You know your in safe hands because:
My purpose in life is healing individuals and I devoted my
career (over 30 years) to being a Counsellor, Adult and Adolescent psychotherapist, most of it in the public sector providing therapy to people who might not have otherwise been able to access therapy. I have worked across Local Authority, Education, Voluntary and Private Sector and the NHS. I was a Psychotherapist, Supervisor and Manager in CAMHS for over 17 years. I have also been Clinical Lead of a Staff Wellbeing service. I also believe passionately in lifelong learning and imparting my decades of knowledge and experince to provide a legacy in this field. I have taught for many years in the field of Psychotherapy, Race Cuture and Mental Health, I am also a Clinical and Safeguarding Supervisor.
Peak area of interest
As an Asian counsellor and Psychotherapist, I wanted to
have a more profound connection with with my Indian roots, so went on aperonal and professional exploratory therapy journeyin India
for 9 months. During this time, I left a legacy for earthquake survivors in rural Gujarat, by providing training and capacity building via an NGO to rural villages
in Gujarat, post the Indian earthquake in 2001. I published several articles
about this work and presented it in national and international journals.
Insurance and Young People
As insurance only covers child/young person sessions, I only work privately with parents and young people.
