Dr Marion Schmidt

Dr Marion Schmidt is a dedicated Consultant Paediatrician specialising in General Paediatrics and Paediatric Cardiology. She provides compassionate, family-centred care for infants, children, and young people, managing both acute paediatric admissions and ongoing health conditions. Working closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, Dr Schmidt serves as a Paediatric Medical Lead and strives to ensure that every young patient receives high-quality, holistic medical support.

Her clinical practice encompasses a broad range of paediatric services, with a strong emphasis on Paediatric Cardiology. Dr Schmidt conducts specialised echocardiography clinics, provides expert interpretation of electrocardiograms (ECGs), and leads care management for children with complex congenital heart disease. Alongside her cardiac work, she is heavily involved in acute paediatric medicine, child protection assessments, safeguarding, and the ongoing development of clinical care pathways to enhance health services for children.

Dr Schmidt achieved her appointment as a Consultant Paediatrician in October 2002 following rigorous postgraduate medical training in Paediatrics. She is a member of the Paediatric Expert Cardiac Special Interest Group (PECSIG) and serves as a certified Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) Instructor. Committed to medical education and clinical standards, she actively leads teaching initiatives, staff training, and the development of evidence-based guidelines and informative resources for parents and carers.
