Dr Luke Canham

Dr Luke Canham is a highly regarded Consultant Neurologist and Consultant Neurophysiologist who is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centred care for individuals experiencing a wide range of neurological conditions. With a dual focus on Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology, he brings a deep understanding of the nervous system's complex pathways to his clinical practice. In his clinical practice, Dr Canham has developed significant expertise in several key areas of Neurology. He has a particular interest in neuroinflammatory disorders, most notably Multiple Sclerosis, and has been actively involved in clinical research aimed at improving symptom management and treatment options for those living with this chronic condition. Additionally, he plays an integral role in Stroke Medicine, contributing to the acute assessment and rehabilitation of patients. His expertise also extends to advanced neurophysiological techniques, including the interpretation of electroencephalograms (EEGs) and multimodal evoked potentials, which are vital tools in diagnosing complex brain and nerve disorders.

Dr Canham's extensive medical training began at Guy's, King's and St Thomas' School of Medicine, where he obtained his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree alongside an intercalated Bachelor of Science (BSc) with Honours. He subsequently completed his specialist training in Neurology and was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Bristol for his research into neurophysiological biomarkers of disability in Multiple Sclerosis.
