Dr Richard Ibitoye is an accomplished Consultant Neurologist who provides patient-centred, evidence-based care across a wide range of neurological conditions. He offers comprehensive clinical evaluations and expert diagnostic assessments for patients presenting with complex nervous system disorders. His clinical practice encompasses general neurology as well as specialised sub-specialties, with a focus on delivering diagnostic clarity and tailored management plans to help patients understand and navigate their health journey effectively.
With advanced expertise in vestibular neurology and stroke medicine, Dr Ibitoye has a primary clinical interest in dizziness, balance disorders, persistent postural-perceptual dizziness, and cerebral small vessel disease. He is highly experienced in managing conditions such as severe headaches, migraines, epilepsy, movement disorders including Parkinson's disease, and peripheral neuropathy. In his clinical practice, Dr Ibitoye has led on advanced therapies for chronic migraine such as calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) treatments within the NHS in Bristol.
Dr Ibitoye completed his medical education at the University of Cambridge, where he earned his undergraduate and medical degrees while intercalating in neurosciences. He subsequently completed specialist clinical training in neurology and completed a PhD at Imperial College London, focusing on the relationship between dizziness and small vessel disease. He holds a Certificate of Completion of Training in Neurology and is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP). Recognised with prestigious academic distinctions, including a National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Academic Clinical Fellowship and the Hallpike Prize for national research excellence, Dr Ibitoye maintains a strong commitment to neuroscientific research and continuous clinical innovation.
