We provide evidence-based treatment for a wide range of addictions, including alcohol and drug addictions, as well as behavioural addictions such as gambling, internet and shopping addictions, all delivered as part of our dedicated inpatient counselling service.
Our 28-day residential addiction treatment programme includes:
- Free, no obligation addiction assessment
- 7-10 day medically assisted detoxification for drug and alcohol
- addictions, if this is required
- 1:1 therapy and group therapy
- Access to 12-step support groups in Bristol
- Free aftercare for 12 months following treatment
- Free family support for 12 months following treatment
Ultimately, the aim of addiction treatment at Bristol is to help you to become physically stable, address the underlying causes and triggers for your addiction, improve your self-esteem and take steps towards a full and sustainable recovery.

I was very daunted prior to going in for the 4 week program, but it was the best thing I have ever done. The therapy was intense but amazing, there wasn’t one session that I didn’t get something out of. The staff on Holbrook ward were phenomenal so caring and supportive and helped to create such a positive and safe environment. All of the staff were brilliant but a particular thanks goto Vernice, Beth and Kim. Thank you, a really positive, life changing experience.
