Dr. Louise Turnbull

Dr Louise Turnbull is a Consultant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, where she has been practising since 2016 and privately at The Wilmslow Hospital. She graduated from the University of Manchester in 2005 and completed her general paediatrics training in the North West, before undertaking sub-specialty training in paediatric respiratory medicine. Dr Turnbull has extensive experience across all areas of respiratory care, with particular clinical interests in severe asthma, paediatric tuberculosis, and bronchoscopy.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Turnbull is deeply committed to medical education. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education (PGCE) and has held key roles in training and development, including departmental education lead and college tutor for paediatric junior doctors since 2018. She is also responsible for induction within her department and plays an active role in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.

Dr Turnbull’s holistic and patient-centred approach underpins her dedication to delivering high-quality care to children with complex respiratory conditions, while also shaping the future of paediatric medicine through her leadership in clinical education.
