Dr Leonie Perera

Dr Leonie Perera is a compassionate Consultant Paediatrician dedicated to providing high-quality medical care for infants, children, and young people. Adopting a reassuring and child-centred approach, she diagnoses and manages a wide range of acute medical conditions as well as ongoing health concerns. Dr Perera works collaboratively with parents and guardians to deliver clear guidance, helping families make confident decisions about their child's health and development.

Her clinical practice spans general paediatric care, emergency paediatric medicine, and critical care. Dr Perera routinely supports children presenting with conditions such as asthma, allergies, eczema, feeding difficulties, and developmental delays. In addition, she possesses dedicated expertise in safeguarding and child protection, carrying out specialised medical evaluations and advising multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable young patients.

Dr Perera completed her medical training at King's College London, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) alongside a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in 2000. She subsequently completed extensive postgraduate paediatric rotation training across tertiary care centres and district general hospitals in London. She has been a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) since 2004. Alongside her direct clinical responsibilities, Dr Perera contributes to medical education, clinical research, and the training of junior doctors.
