Dr Leonard Griffiths

Dr Leonard Griffiths is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and Clinical Lead specialising in digestive health and hepatology. With broad expertise spanning general gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease, and liver disorders, he delivers comprehensive and patient-centred care. Dr Griffiths also serves as an Endoscopy Trainer and works as an Accredited Endoscopist for bowel cancer screening programmes.

In his clinical practice, Dr Griffiths treats a wide spectrum of gastrointestinal conditions, including Barrett's oesophagus, inflammatory bowel disease, and chronic liver diseases. He routinely performs diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures to ensure precise diagnostic evaluation and effective treatment. Dr Griffiths prioritises open communication and reassuring care, ensuring that every patient receives a tailored management plan suited to their individual needs.

Dr Griffiths obtained his medical qualification from the University of Bristol in 2003 and completed higher specialist training across the South West region. He was subsequently awarded a PhD by the University of Bath Department of Biochemistry for his dedicated research into Barrett's oesophagus. Dr Griffiths holds professional memberships with the Royal College of Physicians, the British Society of Gastroenterology, and the British Society for Developmental Biology.
