About Dr Katarzyna Malaczynska-Rajpold
Dr Katarzyna Malaczynska-Rajpold is a consultant cardiologist specialising in cardiac electrophysiology and implantable devices. She has extensive experience treating a wide range of heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, ventricular ectopics, and atrioventricular block. Her expert care addresses symptoms such as palpitations, breathlessness, dizziness, fainting, and transient loss of consciousness through advanced procedures like catheter ablations and the implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators.
Dr Malaczynska-Rajpold completed her medical degree and cardiology training in Poznan, Poland, initially focusing on pulmonary circulation. Her interest later shifted to cardiac arrhythmias during her PhD research, which examined three-dimensional reconstructions of post-infarction scar as a substrate for ventricular tachycardia. This research ignited her passion for cardiac electrophysiology, leading her to further specialise at Royal Brompton Hospital in London, complemented by an observational fellowship at Hospital Clinic in Barcelona, Spain.
Since 2022, she has served as a consultant electrophysiologist at Royal Brompton Hospital, and from 2023 she has held a joint consultant position at both Royal Brompton Hospital and Lister Hospital in Stevenage. Dr Malaczynska-Rajpold is also actively involved with the European Heart Rhythm Association, having chaired the Young EP Committee and served on the EHRA Board, and she currently co-chairs the EHRA National Cardiac Societies Committee.

This was a phone appojntment, but Dr K atarzhna was very helpfull and clearly understood her supject. She was also very clear in her instructions for the way ahead and medications needed. Highly recommend her for an Ablation if you need one.
The phone call was on time which was very helpful as I was going out shortly afterwards. All question I raised were answered straight away with reasons why I need to keep on certain medication. Overall, I was very happy with the telephone call.
Dr Malaczynska-Rajpold has made me feel validated & very supported. She explains everything well, and listens to and answers questions patiently.
My appointment was via a telephone conversation. The call came approximately 2 hrs late but this was okay with myself and the Doctor did apologise.
I found the whole telephone experience very worthwhile and comforting
